My cell phone is only turned on when I need to use it for an emergency. It's a flip phone. If someone needs to talk to me they can call me at home and if I'm not there they can leave a message.

I use it daily, mostly for calls and messaging, taking pix and information apps.
I use the iPad more often but I don't take it with me when I go out, I have the phone then if necessary.

I use it every day all day long. Responding to texts, making calls, taking pictures, etc.
Here's an example. This morning I received a call from my car dealership on my cell phone (several calls). Then the car was delivered and the idiot parked on my front lawn and put huge ruts in it (been raining for 2 days), I called the dealership a few times (cell phone). Received a call on my car phone, then I took some pictures of the ruts in the lawn on the cell phone and with the cell phone texted it to the car dealership, they called and texted me several times over and over. Received several texts from daughter in Denver a few times. Texted and received several from son-in-law on cell phone. Called and received calls on car phone/cell phone from friend regarding lunch. Received texts during tonight from neighbors re meetings tomorrow, etc. It's 9:05PM and I just received another text. And so it goes........
Pictures, texts, calls on cell phone and car phone, checked my emails while sitting in car waiting for friend, read Entertainment Weekly on my cell phone while waiting for friend. Checked facebook on cell phone while waiting for friend.
You bet I use it all day long.

How could I forget - a flashlight! I use the one on my phone a lot.

I have a smartphone but mainly use it when travelling and when visiting family in the Northeast. Indispensible for keeping in touch with a larger group.
It is been amazing in several emergency situations, too, so it's worth the monthly subscription to me. I don't like it, really (too much of a fuss to keep it charged) but I need it enough to keep it.

Old flip fone here...I use it once in a while for short conversations and texts, but it's mostly for emergencies. I use the calculator and alerts for reminders. The camera stinks...the button to activate the camera is in the worst place possible and I end up with blurry photos of my thumb or my knees...which is really the only way to look at my knees any more LOL!
Let me know when a flexible, foldable screen is invented...I want a good sized screen on a computer that I can also use as a telephone that will fold up and fit in my purse.
I like talking on my landline and using my laptop in the comfort of my home.
I refuse to be tethered to cyberspace every minute of the day!

I just bought the latest greatest IPhone when it came out. It is really pretty and the screen is great. I can go for days without thinking about it, and have a difficult time keeping it charged up because I forget about it.
I use my laptop and Mini IPad, but I am not tied to the phone or computer looking at it all the time like some. I tend to forget I have the phone. I would be miserable if I had that thing going off all day. It would drive me crazy. I'm not giving up my life so people can send me stupid stuff. If it is an emergency I can be found.
If I need my phone for some reason, I have it and will take it with me. In the house? No. It's off. Out of sight out of mind.

Calls. Txts. That's it.
Dumb phone, no apps. When it dies, I'll upgrade to another, newer dumb phone.

I've never owned a cell phone. Not planning on getting one any time soon.
