How Much Do You Restrict Starch In Your Diet?

It's rare I eat bread at all.  Sometimes on a holiday, I'll have one of the Sister Schubert's yeast parker house rolls we're so fond of.

Occasionally, I'll have a piece of garlic bread with fresh French bread.  I may have a potato once every 3 or 4 months.  Rarely rice, usially under some dish like pepper steak.

I don't eat cereal because I enjoy Instant Breakfast with double the calcium of milk.

I eat meats, fruits, and vegetables, with some occasional cheese.

I don't. I believe in all things in moderation. I would be miserable if I restricted starch or carbs in my diet. It's liberating to eat whatever I want without guilt (in a reasonable portion of course).

I look forward to breakfast.

I toast a slice of Ezekial and pile it high with kale and baby lettuces, half a sliced avocado and a Roma tomato.

I eat it *open faced*, just one slice under it all.

It's like a BLT, without the B (or mayo!).

Mid day or for lunch, I may have a hummus sandwich on 2 slices of Ezekial--not toasted, but prefer it room temp--even on the dry side.  Love it like that especially.

I rarely eat potatos, even rarer rice or french fries (baked).

I do like homemade pea soup and lentil soup and I think that's starch?

For snacks I like Kashi's 7 grain crackers.  Just a handful!  Dipped in hummus.  Yum.  Hummus is probably starch too.

@JJsMom

I'm the same way.

If I am craving cheese, I'll have cheese.

If I am craving pasta, I'll have pasta.

If I am craving a steak, I'll have a steak.

I don't believe in depriving myself of what my body is craving.

Re: How Much Do You Restrict Starch In Your Diet?

After many years of trial and error to figure out what works best for me, I discovered that limiting my carbs to dinner produces just a 15-minute insulin surge for the day, and I feel and look my best on that regimen. :-)

I must watch all carbs this includes starches ,for health reasons. It's not an option for me, to eat whatever I wish.  I would love to, but I know it's not possible

I rarely eat bread, pasta, rice,  but I do have  some potatoes, but not french fries, nor potato chips. I measure what I eat so I don't get too many carbs

I'm eating something new...Cheetos Sweetos. Cinnamon sugar puffs. They're pretty good.
