Home depot usually has them cheap. Like 5-6 ft , no frill fresh tree used to be around $30. Not sure now.

Are you talking real?!
Yes. Real. A very popular local meteorologist showed a pic of it at his Christmas party. One of the anchors teased him by saying, "Yeah, if I made ____'s salary, I, too, could afford a $895 tree." Cut to meteorologist - sheepishly smiling.
Even if I made a boat load of money I wouldn't pay that. I can't imagine what justifies that price tag!

We get a cut tree from one of the tree farms about an hour and a half away. I do a country tree. This year it will be a Concullen Fir, $70.00 for 9 feet which we will trim. We also tip the precious retired minister who has brought our trees for thirty years.

One year we purchased a cut Concullen Fir tree, it was beautiful. Only problem was that when we brought it into our warm house, we had a problem. Flies! The tree had large flies on it that were dormant and when they came into the house it woke them up.

Many of the tree farms, in my neck of Jersey, charge $8.00-$10.00 a foot for "average" trees. Anything special/unique (not sure what qualifies) is more per foot.
Due to allergies, I have not had a real tree in YEARS.

I would NEVER cut down a live tree for the silly custom of Christmas. Ridiculous! I bought a live tree, back before I knew better, the first year I was married 35 years ago. Never again. I'm a tree lover. Safe a tree, buy artificial. ![]()

I'd pop if you brought it to my house, got the ornaments from the attic and decorated it, then came and took the trimmings off and put them back, swept the carpet, and took the tree away a month later. . . Yeah. I'd pop for that! LOL!!!

I am a tree lover as well. Most Christmas trees, however, are grown on tree farms for the very purpose of providing a family with a beautiful tree for Christmas. Much like planting lettuce or asparagus or anything else that is harvested for our enjoyment. Forests are not being ravaged. (Although on private land or with permission one can certainly cut down a tree for their own use).

To answer the question, I would say a tree the size and type we would want would probably be about $75.00

We spend about $25 for a lovely, but not huge tree.
