I buy real every year for a 7' or 8' tree and it costs us around $60. We go to a tree farm and cut it ourselves. Spruce are more money around $125.

we have lots and garden centers where some full sized trees start at $20 and go up from there, but not generally more than $100. we now have an artificial tree that i love and i use the scentsicles on it to create a pine smell.
when i was buying trees i always loved a fraser fir the best and they were always more expensive than the pines.

omg. I wouldn't pay that even if it came with ornaments.

Are you talking real?!
Yes. Real. A very popular local meteorologist showed a pic of it at his Christmas party. One of the anchors teased him by saying, "Yeah, if I made ____'s salary, I, too, could afford a $895 tree." Cut to meteorologist - sheepishly smiling.

We get real trees every year. I do not like the fake trees, they look too fake to me, even the expensive ones.
In Michigan, there are tree farms everywhere and we can get pretty much any type of tree we want. I like Fraiser Furs. They run about $45 for a 8-9 ft tree. We can buy a tree for $20, but it's a white pine and they don't hold ornaments very well.
We usually go to a tree farm close to our home and their trees are a little more expensive $70-90 for a 9 ft'er, but it's a family owned farm so we don't mind spending a little more to support the locals.
We cut it down ourselves, they shake it, drill the bottom and net it for us. They have Clydesdale horses that pull a sleigh to bring us to the trees of our choice. They have hot chocolate and popcorn balls. It's so fun!! We love it, it's surely a family tradition!

If you go to a farm and cut one down, they are cheaper than buying an already cut one, generally.
I do artificial but I have relatives who do real and they buy them at Costco every year. The trees are absolutely gorgeous and I believe they are $30.00 or $35.00.
I have friends who have spent $80-$100 on a tree.
