DD has been working overtime for 2 weeks, staying late and going in Saturdays.
I realized today that there have been several days when I don't talk to a human until she gets home at 7:30 or 8 at night. She leaves at 7:30 am.
I talk to my sister a couple nights a week. I did go to the bank last week and talked to the drive thru teller.
I have emailed friends, but it hit, me I rarely speak during the day except to talk to the cats. Oh, I yell at the punchable faces on the news.
DH is probably looking down in amazement that I can be so quiet.

My dog Murphy thinks he's a person, does that count? Other than that grocery pick up, friends on Skype

@mspatmac Of course Murphy counts. Some of my best conversations have been with my pets.

Not very long. If there is no one around, I can be quiet, but if I am out and about, I tend to talk to everyone, including strangers.
I talk to my dogs all day long too.
I spoke complete sentences when I was 12 months old ( according to my parents) and I haven't shut up yet!

Not very darn long! Thank goodness DH is home most of every day. Son/daughter in law stop in often, neighbor comes over several times a week, cleaning lady who is also a friend every 2 weeks or more often, best friend about once a week. And we do go out to eat and I make a point of speaking with servers some more than others as I saw them frequently in normal times pre virus. We have had a few family get togethers - son/wife; grandson/wife; mother-in-law, granddaughter/fiance.
I do wear my mask and we social distance, but I am not doing well with this isolation and being away from people. It is not normal for humans to not interact with each other and it has been hard as I am a very friendly person and used to being with people.
Today we did go to the computer store and to eat in a local restaurant - so some actual speaking with a person there.
Since I am not working because of this virus, no daily interaction of ciients and co-workers and ife is definetly out of kilter for me.

@KathyM23 I was like you years ago. When I worked I talked to co-workers, friends, family, clients. Anybody and everybody. Certain clients would call and we talked for 20 minutes or more before talking business.
The older I get the less I want or need to be social.

Quite some time. Unless I need to leave the house, which is usually only for grocery shopping. Even then i don't usually have conversation with people, except to say excuse me or thank you.
My DH is home, but a lot of time we don't feel the need to talk. Prior to marriage I lived by myself for quite a while and just became adjusted to not always needing to have conversation or be around people.

I can go a whole day, but I prefer not to and I get lonely. I like talking to my peeps. When I lived alone, there were longer stretches of silence than now. I think that's pretty normal. One reason I've always had a cat or two around is to have an intelligent conversation partner.

DD and I went to my sister's the weekend before Christmas last year.
Her 2 DDs and their DHs, 5 grandkids were there. Ages were 2 &1/2, 4, 13 and 2 14 yr olds. Sis's 2 dogs and my niece's 2 dogs. Holey Moley. When DD and I got in the car she said, "listen." When I asked "listen to what?"
I got, "SILENCE. Oh dear God what a madhouse."
We are too used to just us and the cats.
