Re: How Do You Handle a Friend Who Constantly Interrupts?

My daughter-in-law is a chatterbox who NEVER shuts up (I'll bet she talks in her sleep). She talks a mile a minute, interrupts, talks over everyone, etc. Because she's family, I can't do much about it without alienating her, my son, etc. I've resigned myself to the fact that she is the way she is, and if I want peace in the family I'm just going to have to put up with it.

I have to laugh...she must have taken a breath long enough for your son to get engaged and marry her. Is he quiet?  In later years, the rolls will reverse, I'll bet ya.

Having difficulty with conversations can be a symptom of ADHD. People of any age can have it, diagnosed or not. It could also be that she is lonely, and does not have regular conversations with others, and perhaps is unable to self-moderate.

@paixmcdao I completely agree with this.  I also get frustrated with people who, when I'm speaking, rather than listening to me,  are thinking of the next thing THEY want to say.  I can see it in their eyes.
