I think anyone who was up next to sell that device knew what happened either by watching the 3pm presentation or by word of mouth or email. Do I think Shawn deliberately fibbed just to sell this product? You better believe I do!

I wondered if anyone else saw it happen. The poor girl was so embarrassed and her look kept saying, "Get the camera away and OUCH". She kept tugging on her hair.
If it had not looked so painful it would have been funny! I would think you need to have a certain kind of hair and know how many strands to fit in that thing.
Just looking at it you can tell it could easily get your hair tangled around the wrong part of the thing! I don't have much hair, I sure don't want anything that could cause me to lose it to a gadget! Ha!
Oh...that had to have hurt!

shouldn't she have known about the incident that happened earlier in the day, where the model's hair did get stuck? I think so.

Shawn can always make a statement to qvc viewers such as "I'm sorry but I was wrong," but in the meantime her job is to make money for her employer. If she doesn't I'm sure there would be consequences of what I don't know. It is not her job to say forget it, this product is garbage and I don't want any of you watching to buy it and risk getting your hair caught and probably damaged to some extent by trying to wrestle it free.

Oh, I'm pretty sure she knew about the item and how it malfunctions. It struck me as a bold-faced lie at the time.
She was, I suspect, specifically, told to say that. And, the way she said it. ...and when. ...
It was odd to say, a couple of times, that your hair doesn't get caught in it. Generally, you don't point out/bring up potential problems in an item you're trying to sell. You focus on the positive. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
It was a non sequitur.

True...I'm just thinking they're running the risk of a lot of returns and bad reviews.

Oh I agree. But, I think their number 1 priority is to make money for their employer and it's someone else's problem if there's a ton of returns and bad reviews.

I think this device would be extremely damaging to one's hair.

I don't think Shawn was the only host selling that contraption of a curler. It was an all day thing. Did any of the host warn us about getting hair caught in it? I didn't watch all day but I didn't hear any warnings from anyone.

I would expect a polished host to NOT mention the possibility of hair getting caught in the device. Just don't go there.
There are stories on the internet of hair getting caught in these type of devices. I would never use one for that reason.
I do cringe when Shawn starts trying to style the hair of a model.
