One of the best perks of the holidays imo, the scent of cooking something delicious 😃

I have a recipe somewhere for banana nut cookies. They were wonderful and tasted just like the bread. My son used to eat them with butter on the top

It's a nice idea to put the bread in a square pan. I think it would kept it moist longer than a loaf pan. I can almost smell it. I looks delicious

@cherry, I like making it in the square pan because it cooks faster and it is very moist. My secret, I melt two TB of butter and add it to banana mixture

Looks great, and you're right - the house always smells wonderful! I make banana bread a lot, and my secret is to always use an extra banana and also butter - no oil! It makes a big difference.

Re: House Smells Great

[ Edited ]

Realtor tip to me when I was selling a house:  Make an appointment, cook banana nut bread so it will be done just before the prospective buyers arrive and if weather is cold, build a fire in the fireplace.

In summer, put white spreads on your beds, turn the master spread back to reveal white sheets and plump the pillows.  Have the house impeccably clean, air conditioner turned to 70 degrees and spray Lysol air freshener that smells summery.
