@I am still oxox...it's a PITA, but medical bills are negotiable. Been there, done that, many times. You have to call each provider individually and discuss your situation. I have found that most are willing to work with you and come to a mutual compromise. Best of luck to you.

My brother was in the hospital for 10 days with a perforated colon.  After insurance and write-offs, his copay is $27,000 and change!  He'll be dead before he can pay that off.

Did you receive an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) from your insurance company to see what was paid?  I never pay any medical bill until I receive that.  I'm on Medicare.
