Parents losing their jobs is a major problem. Jobs are not being created.

There is no solution. Jesus said over 2,000 years ago "the poor will always be with us" and that proves to be true today.

I guess they live your name hxll on earth.

Don't we all?

I don't really feel that way I have a lot to be thankful for and try to thank God everyday for what I have. Why be a whiner. And even if the poor will always be with us that doesn't mean there can't be fewer poor people.

So Helen, From your post... It's okay for people to be poor and homeless? Jesus said there was no solution over 2,000 years ago? I think you made that up. In a country so wealthy, it's an abomination.

What part of "the poor will always be with us" do you disagree with? Are the poor a thing of the past or are they still with us?

No human being should have to live that way. Just because there is, doesn't make it right. It's not a time to be complacent.

I guess I'm slow (lol), because I didn't get that play on words until you made the reference. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

I'm slow with you, 'cause I didn't catch it either.

I don't have a solution to the homeless problem, but I do donate regularly to a place here called The Lord's Diner. They serve a hot meal daily to all who come.

He also said "What you do for the least of these, you do for me."

There are homeless shelters for people and foster care for children whose parents can't or won't provide care for them.

That this person would take issue with the shelters and care given to animals who are the result of careless, inhumane people and are at least as deserving as any person or child is appalling.

What a grandstander looking for his 15 minutes, donations, and maybe even a shot at a CNN grant.

1) Not enough homeless shelters and not enough help

2) I think the OP is simply saying that children deserve at least as much as dogs and cats.

3) I don't think this person is a "grandstander" nor is he broadcasting good works for his own benefit. Sometimes it takes something like this to bring more awareness to a situation because it is so often ignored in favor of "bigger" problems. I hope he gets all the donations and grants he can get if it's going to help homeless children, and their parents.

All depends on how you look at it. "What you do for the least of these...." With enough help and hard work, there might still always be poor people, but they might not be homeless.
