I was in my local Homegoods recently where I picked up a few area rugs, one of which I felt might have to be returned.

I hadn't shopped them for so long, but I remember you could return anything practically forever as long as the tags were still on - don't remember if you had to have the receipt.  I do remember a friend who never removed tags if they were not visible as an item was used and she just used for a few months, returned and brought new home.

glad I asked --  at least at my store, returns within 30 days with a receipt

Anyway, as I checked out, I asked about the current return policy.  30 days

I drove past Homegoods the other day and it was very busy.  People are interested in shopping, that's for sure.

Good to know! TJMaxx also has a website....am wondering if either of these stores have a ship to store option to save shipping. Now it's time for Marshalls to step up....

Marshall's has had a website for a few years... None of them have ship to store. You can return at the store to save return shipping charge.

Last week I stopped into HomeGoods, it was a huge disappointment.

Generally the store has all its pretty dishes, seasonal dishes and entertaining items at the front of the store along with pots and pans...and bakeware.

There was nothing...that part of their inventory was completely gone.  I was quite surprised.   If the inventory was low, that I would have understood but there was nothing.
