@just bee @On It   My DH's grandfather bought acreage in Ruidoso neighboring town in 1930's  to escape summer heat. Hence, DH spent summers summers working in the apple orchards his GF cultivated and searching for arrowheads. There were many timber mills in the area. We still own the property sharing property line with national forest but our apple trees are long gone. It is a beautiful sight and sound when the hummingbirds migrate through the area feasting on fireweed.
