there is a delay now when a caller is patched in.  maybe to screen out certain types of unpleasant calls?

hsn used to have callers that sounded too professional and rehearsed

The Beekmans always call their customers neighbors.  It's just something they did on Evine.  I have not watched them on HSN but I am sure they still do it.  They live in a very small town.  They have spoken how neighbors helped them out.

this isn't new. the beekman boys have been calling people that purchase and/or call in neighbors since before they were on hsn.

they often explain why they call people neighbors while on air.

back in the day, one of their neighbors showed them how to make the soap, which launched their company.

it started when their actual neighbors came over to their house to help them get a really large order wrapped and shipped.

they do not mean any harm by it.

it's the same as when recording artists have a name for their fans, like lady gaga calling her fans "little monsters".
