Here we go again....................

Here we go again. The weather forecast is out for where I live in PA. Heavy snow starting late Wednesday night into Thursday over night (ending wee hours of Fri morning). Predicted amounts where I am are up to a foot and probably MORE than a foot. (And more snow Sunday)

To top it my husband has to work (I feel like taking his car keys. I know that sounds controlling but IMO his work should close as they are saying do not travel). Try telling his job that! So I will sit here alone worrying about him. Last storm they NEVER plowed, and my husband had to stop and literally shovel at places to get home.

And our snow blower blew 4 storms ago. He called for service but they are backed up for MONTHS. So they told him what to do. He changed spark plugs and worked on it and it starts up and shuts right off. He is going to empty the gas tonight and put clean gas in and clean the carburetor. I told him 2 weeks ago to buy a new one because he has severe asthma and cant shovel "if its deep". And I cant shovel at all with my back issues. But nope he didn't go get one. So I hope he can fix our other one.

Lastly they are running out of salt here due to all of the storms so they basically only clean main highways and snow emergency routes.

I know wah stop my whining but Im not the only one. All my friends AND my grown kids who used to love snow, now hate snow too.

Well we cannot control the weather, BUT I pray to God everyone will be safe and there wont be power outages. There are still some people without power from the last storm here in PA and the Governor declared a state of emergency the last storm.

If you are in the path of the storm too, please be safe.

Think SPRING! :-)

Re: Here we go again....................

Oh Shorty......I heard this on the weather channel earlier today.

Heck, I ordered one of those snow brooms for the car last week. And for the first time I have ever seen it on any of my order status.....it commented on problems because of the weather conditions. But, fortunately it arrived a little bit ago. Still out in the front hall.....need to get it in so I can see it. And then get busy cleaning off my car after 2 different snowfalls here.

Will definitely be ready for spring this year.

Some of the areas here in St. Louis are getting low on their salt supply too, and they are guarding it very closely....... They do use a beetjuice mixture to pretreat the roads and highways, but when it gets rain before it snows, it disappears pretty quickly.....

Re: Here we go again....................

I remember reading a joke about a guy and snow.

The joke starts off with the guy loving the beauty of falling snow.

As it continues to snow, he grows less and less fond of it, until at the end, he is so sick of seeing snow, that he fears for his sanity, if he see one more snow flake.

I feel for everybody who had to deal with all of that bad weather.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

We are supposed to get between 14-22 inches by me.We will see I am working from home. I feel bad for my DD who is in Banking and for who the heck knows why, they keep the banks open. I don't get it. They should just say state of emergency unless you are essential ie cops ect stay home. Bankers in the scheme of things not essential.

Re: Here we go again....................

After it leaves your area, the storm is heading up the coast to New England. We're expecting ice, rain, and snow. I wish it were just snow, but with ice and rain, it's going to be dangerous. We've been lucky here and haven't had to deal with ice yet. I guess we can't escape it forever.

Re: Here we go again....................

I feel your pain. We have a yorkie and we have to shovel a path for him so he can go potty. The snow in our backyard is chest deep! I'm not kidding. The piles are so high at the front of our home, I cannot see our front door from the road and our lot is relatively flat. We've been getting a ton of lake effect snow and it's never ending. I can't wait until Spring. It's going to be a long time before all of this melts. I bet we still have snow piles through April. There is no way this is going to go away soon. Ugh... Add 3 teenage drivers to the mix, yikes! I need a glass of wine{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: Here we go again....................

Our weather lady said this morning that she went to Erie to pick up her parents. Just to give them a break from all of the snow. She said they have had 106 inches so far. I'm in NVa.

Now, we're to get this one...6-9,,9-12 who knows.
