Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

If they gave the real date a lot of people wouldn't place the order.  They make sure they are processing the order quickly so you can't cancel it.  It takes days to "process" the order.

Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

While I feel for them, that is not my issue.  If they can't deliver they shouldn't promise delivery.  I would rather they tell us the truth and have us decide if we want to wait two or three weeks for an item.  Some things I don't mind waiting and some I do.  People will lose their jobs if people stop shopping at QVC for their poor service.  I mostly shop at Amazon because they deliver for the most part in a timely manner.  I am avoiding going out because of the pandemic so I depend on shipments to come on time.

Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

Good point. Most of the things I order are on clearance.  So they have nothing to do with ships in the dock. They are just slow.

Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

I think I will take your suggestion and go elsewhere.  QVC used to get the orders out in a timely manner.  If everyone who doesn't want to wait weeks stops shopping there they may go out of business.

so apparently every single thing in QVC inventory is on those ships?

every single thing? a bit of an exaggeration.

some things from QVC are arriving in a few days......others are taking two weeks......this has been my personal experience fortunately.

Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

My experience has been old in stock items still don't ship out in a timely manner most of the time.  Right now I have a set of candles coming...rather quickly...will be delivered today which is surprising but UPS has the item so that explains that.  Plus the order only was in process for 3 days prior to shipping from warehouse.

The other set of candles I ordered (old in stock items not on ships but in warehouse) are still in process and are due to be delivered tomorrow 9/30.  I don't think that's gonna happen LOL!  7 days in process now.

I ordered on a free ship day with purchase of fashion 75.00....they wouldn't ship any of the items out and all were old stock clearance!  Took most 3+ weeks to ship and some 1 month.  I contacted CS many times they couldn't explain it...had no answer for me why as it is old items.  Plus the real kicker...they wouldn't let me cancel the orders!!!  WHAT you hold it and don't fill the orders for a month and I can't cancel any of them!  That was it for me...that experience in Aug.  Done

This tells me they are having lot's of issues at their warehouses ....and this it seems to be a normal practice for them now.  I wouldn't order anything I truly need or want from here.  I can wait on some candles no problem but if it was a gift or something I needed to wear or do a project or decor in my home? NO...I just shop local and that is a good thing as so many of the clothes I tried were duds in size or quality.  So perhaps this is a good thing for some of us as we will not buy much here any longer.

I purchase from Kohl's Sunday I just received some of my orders today.  That's only 3 days.  And the other part is on the way.  Not bad at all.

Amazon always get's the order on time....zero issues there.  Costco on line no issue there at all.

Other business for candle orders...got them in a week or less.  Again no holding orders of old stock items for 1 month to process.

And returns you must do by contacting the easy returns....and watch that they take off your EP's....I spent a good part of my day getting that fixed with CS here.

@CAcableGirl2    How in the world do you propose they be able to predict exactly when an order will ship after viewing that mess in the harbor waiting to unload?  You must be living in an alternate universe.... you and a lot of other people.

But then why did my Kohl's order of multiple items arrive within a week?  I know there is a mess in the harbor but why is it that some companies can do so much better.  Just wondering.

Re: Here's Why Slow Shipping

@Susan Louise    HSN and QVC use basically the same warehouses, with a few exceptions. HSN is having its problems too.  They just don't make as much noise about it.  Vendor Marla Wynn was on last weekend bemoaning the fact that a new denim collection she's been waiting to introduce has been delayed indefinitely.  Other of her items are on advance order.

@Kachina624   My comment was about items that were in stock in a QVC Warehouse.  QVC should be able to give an accurate estimated ship date, if the item is in their warehouse, it's only a matter of managing your staff and how many orders they can pull in a day and process a shipping label since the shipping vendors would be making daily if not multiple trips to QVC warehouses per day.

If the item is at a vendor or on a boat, I'm not suggesting that they can give an estimate ship date.

@CAcableGirl2   I ordered Cuddl Duds pants Monday, they shipped Tuesday.  Since almost everything is on advance order, they should have plenty of help.  Maybe my experience was just a fluke?

I understand, and  they are using the slow shipping as an excuse to jack up the prices.  That is what I am seeing in the industry overall.  The prices are out of hand.

@debmmm    You don't think shipping prices have shot up?  Who do you think will be paying for them?

There is a shortage of shipping containers.  I heard on the news last night that they've gone from an average of $1300 to $14,000 per container.
