I have original Medicare (parts A and B) and it doesn't cover eyeglasses.

I would need to add a 'Medicare Advantage' plan (part C) to help cover routine eye exams and glasses but can't afford it.

@feline groovy

You don't "add" a Medicare Advantage Plan.  You have that instead of Original Medicare and supplement (if you have a supplement).

Many times Advantage Plans have cheaper out of pocket expenses, or even none.  It all depends on what plans are available in your area and what your personal medical/health needs are.

Re: Help with Eyeglasses, please

Twelve years? Wow. I accidentally threw away the glasses I got 3 years ago so I'm wearing the previous ones which I kept as emergency glasses. My prescription did change but not my much so my opthalmologist said no need to hurry to replace my glasses. But the frame is little wonky I'm getting new glasses. The Target and the Walmart near me have optical shops, so I'll go to one of them to get reasonably priced glasses.

I assure you it was my pleasure to be able to bring these services to indigent inmates because every defendant in jail is "presentence"  so that means he's/she's innocent until proven guilty.

Each one had the right to read every word of all the documents and records associated with his/her case.

Without eyeglasses, that would not have been possible.

Good Luck to you!

Re: Help with Eyeglasses, please

I've had existing lenses put in new frames.  I did it by discussing it with my Optician.

I didn't do it by posting something on a Chat Board.

To each his own, I guess.

Re: Help with Eyeglasses, please

@feline groovy   IMHO after 12 years, you need to find a financial way to get your eyes checked for possibly a new perscription. Frames are not as important as good eye sight.

Re: Help with Eyeglasses, please

@feline groovy   You may want to find a Lions Club near you. They are a great civic organization that is non- political and non-religious. One of their main projectsis helping people with sight issues and loss. My father was a charter member of our town's club when he was alive and did wonderful volunteer work. We all donated our glasses and frames over the years and I still do. Their information will be online. If you need help with anything sight related financially or otherwise they should be able to help you.
Good luck to you. 😊

Thank you for the good wishes.  8-)

And for the Lions Club recommendation; bless your dad for his contribution.

Plus you and your family for your donations.
