Help--Shark Navigator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum

I am thinking of purchasing the "Shark Navigator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum". I can get this vacuum at another store but it does not come with the "backsaver handle". Can anyone tell me if you believe this to be a "must have" accessory or if you never use it. Thanks in advance for your answers.
