I have a built in separate porcelain bidet. I never use it. The thought of having water shoot up on me from it grosses me out. I know there are bidet attachments people add to existing toilets. I'm not a fan of bidets.

@Annabellethecat66 I believe Kohler still makes a bisque color bidet.

When we built, we considered a bidet, but ended up not doing so. However, like @Nuttmeg I have a Toto toilet seat that does the same thing.
I would not be without it.
DH installed in the master bath which is the one I most often use. He has his own bathroom in the garage as he is a builder and said he doesn't want to drag his dirt in the house. That's fine with me.
The main advantage is you don't have to have a second fixture in your bathroom. This attaches to the existing toilet and has all the same features...heated water, seat, pressure adjustment.
I highly recommend you check them out before installing a separate bidet. A skilled plumber will be able to install it. They are not cheap, but not as much as a bidet. And, they fit right on to your existing toilet.

Annabellethecat. I don't have a bidet, but if we redo our BFF I'm getting one! Check out the library magazines. The latest issue of consumer reports has a article/ratings of them

@Annabellethecat66 One thing I meant to add was that if you are allergic to TP the bidet is a lifesaver, and if you have hemorrhoids I have heard it's a must have.
I would say to investigate and go for it!!

@Annabellethecat66 OMG, I have always wanted a bidet. Sounds like you are having a grand time with the remodeling. I wish I lived near you, I would love to help you make decisions. I saw that you mentioned moving at some point and having to decide on carpet. May I suggest that you go with hardwood floors instead as they are much easier to maintain and a good selling point. There are so many choices like ceramic, etc. Good luck, Miss A. ![]()

@Witchy Woman When I said bidet I wasn't talking about a separate fixture....I was talking about the same thing you have...
Toto is one of the best. There are a few rated higher but it fits on the toilet.
I didn't even think that anyone would think about a separate 'bidet'.
I'm getting major push-back from friends and family about putting it in the master bath versus the powder room upstairs.
I'd have to walk past the hall powder room, through my bedroom to the master bathroom, versus walking to the powder room like I usually do.
I get a headache thinking about this stuff. I have two things going on here..first I don't like making decisions and I find it boring (probably because I'm not good at decorating).
Wow! I've had an epiphany! Thanks for helping me decide.

@pattypeep I'd love to have hardwood floors. The look so clean and nice and make a room look bigger.
However, hardwood floor are too hard on my fake knees. That's why I have to have wall to wall carpeting.
I know it's probably stupid but I'll get carpeting now and maybe before I move get the hardwood floors put in.
I just want to live here for 6 months to a year with it back as it was before my husband died.
Right now it's not bad and wasn't bad before but when he died everything worked and was still pretty new (redid house after fire in 2001 and he died 2004).
The walkway is the main thing I'm getting done and the porch in front. Also total redone in the master bath but nothing amazing. It's a typical 70-80's style small bathroom. Back then we did our business and left the room.
I'm going to see if my daughter could help me post pictures. She leaves to go back to Denver on Tuesday morning. Boo-hoo.
