Yesterday my neighbor's little boy was in the street playing with his remote control car. Along came a hawk who tried to lift the car and take off, only succeeded in raising it a few inches, rode it for maybe 6", tried again to lift it, could not and finally gave up. He sat on the rooftop glaring down at all the spectators for a good 1/2 hour. Now what do you think this hawk was thinking?
Have to add he was a determined bird and the fact that there were about 10 adults outside filming his misadventure did not daunt him in the least.

I don't know what the hawk was thinking, but I'M thinking that was one dumb bird if he actually had that unyielding piece of metal and plastic in it's talons and STILL had to think about going back for another try. Maybe it thought the car was just a really fast turtle?

They are lucky he didn't try to pick up the kid! They are one strong bird. My daughter had one fly into the grill of her car once. It was so traumatic for her, she just drove to the mechanic in hysteria! Thankfully he was able to get the bird out but unfortunately he was dead.

Wish I could see that video!
It was just yesterday when I went walking through the park parallel to a creek with lots of trees around that a hawk buzzed right by me (I could feel the wind he made) as he was chasing a bird! The bird escaped. That was a new experience for me!

Mr. Hawk, who likes to chase cars, should take a lesson from Mr. Dog that does the same. What would I do with it if I caught it?

It would be fun to see the video. If a neighbor posts it to YouTube, please let us know! Thank you.

I once had a golden that never was agressive towards birds - but - hated hawks! If I saw one lurking all I would have to say was "Emma - Hawk!!" and she would go barreling out the door to chase the dasterdly bird. I know, hawks have to eat too but not in my yard lol.

@chlema That's what I do with roadrunners because they eat lizards (that eat ants) and baby birds of other species.

Be careful with your very small dogs and puppies. Hawks will pick them up too...for dinner!
