And don't leave your list in the car when you go in. Don't take your new recipe to shop for the ingredients because you can lose the recipe!

I always take a list with me. I DO forget to put things into my shopping cart. I put a check mark on the list to indicate that I got the item.......but then I forget to put the item in the shopping cart. Many times I've come home & unpacked everything, then wondered where whatever the item was is. When I check on the receipt it's not on there.

Oh yes, I've done this. Usually I have a list even if it's for just a few things because I will forget items. I've also forgotten the list at home. That never turns out well. HAHA

I, too, often to forget the list - it's a 60-40 chance that I'll forget it.
What really used to frustrate me is when I was doing shopping for my neighbor. I'd make a list with 'mine' and 'hers' on the other side (matching similar items). Ironically, always forget something on my side, but always got everything needed on her side!
And an almost guaranteed 'forget' - shopping bags. Either I totally forget to take them along, or, I forget to bring them into the store with me - :womanembarrassed
I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments as now know I'm not alone!

If I go to the grocery store----and then forget my list----I am like a lost lamb!!! I do use Alexa on my phone now----but I haven't done full on grocery shopping in person, in any grocery store since before the pandamic---I always order online--I do stop for a few small items that I can carry in a backpak. I don't have a car anymore and can walk a short distance to get to one tho.

I have and try and make a list but sometimes not. I do keep a list in my phone now so when I stop I can check it out to see what we need.
My husband will take a list and not sure why because he comes back with more ****** than on the list. I have enough to feed an army most of the time. I give up. He wins. 🫣

@happilyretiredgirl Did it just this week. Saw the Voortman cookies we liked on sale at Publix....which is out of the way so if I go, it's usually on Senior Day.
Bought six packages of cookies (buy 1 get 1), got out to the car and remembered that we ordered Girl Scout cookies this year and they were being delivered in 2 days.
The BF had wanted 4 boxes of the raspberry GS cookies and shipping was delayed about 2 weeks due to manufacturing issues.

This is a normal occurence for me! When I go to the grocery store forgetting the list is a 50/50 chance....and forgetting the primary reason for my trip to the store is the other 50%!

I always have a precise list written in order of where the item is in the store, so I don't usually forget food items, but did forget freezer tape on my last trip.
