Re: Have you bought anything from Temu?

@chrystaltree

From consumer finance . gov

Is a prepaid Visa card the same as a Visa debit card?

A prepaid card is not linked to a bank or credit union account. Instead, you put money into the card account, sometimes called loading money onto the card, before you can spend it. With a debit card, you are spending money you have in your bank or credit union account.Oct 19, 2023

My debit card is a Master Card. They have always stood up for me with any problems.

Re: Have you bought anything from Temu?

Yes, I have.  I use my desktop computer, not an app on my phone.  In my feeble mind my desktop has a great virus protector???  I use my credit card, not debit card.  Everything comes in a timely manner and I am quite surprised with the quality.  I only order cute tops---and get compliments every time I wear them.  This is my thoughts, the better part of what we purchase is made in China----they are a very smart country and get our info probably with a blink of an eye.  I am retired and watch how my money is spent, so love to get items within my means.  They have been in business for quite sometime and other than the "what if's and maybes" etc. I do not know of any specific danger.  Please don't judge me----just my opinion.

Mine is a Visa but the company's customer service took very good care of me when I noticed a duplicate charge on my account.  Very professional and they in 48 hours.  Been using my debit cards for years and I only ever had that one problem.

I've placed one order and was very satisfied.

They won't get info off my phone because I didn't use my phone to order. I also didn't download their app.

I ordered from my laptop and paid with paypal.

 Nothing has happened.

I have no plans to shop with Temu even though some have had praised them.  China and my financial information do not belong together.  I do not buy from Sellers on eBay who are shipping from China.

@monicakm  I concur with no way, no how. You get what you pay for and I for one do not want my personal information floating around in either TEMU or SHEIN.

A lot of people at work shop there and love Temu and I always see packages in our package room here in my apartment building. The same with SHEIN. I did purchase once from them and was very happy with my order.

I signed my life away a long time ago to Google, Apple, Amazon, TikTok, FB, etc, etc. I have never been hacked nor my bank accounts touched.

Shein takes pay pal so no need to give your credit card info.

Re: Have you bought anything from Temu?

In this day and age, do not buy from any retailer that has not been in business a long time and is an established and responsible company.

DO NOT open or buy from an internet source you do not know.  They don't have anything you have to have.  And chances are good you'll get more trouble than you bargained for.
