Re: Have thought about Jane's comment before posting...

I think posting how you feel on Jane""s FB is the way to go.

She will not see it here and if she did she would nor respond here.

Having taught for many years, I understand the plight of substitute teachers.

However, I think the "costume" described is clever and funny!

People can always find something to be offended about. I remember Jeanne Bice many many many times saying that she was a teacher and teachers LOVE her sweaters. I doubt if Jane meant anything mean by her story. I did not see the show

Yawn - yet another poster being offended at nothing. Obviously, the teacher who dressed up like this has a sense of humor.

Maybe we should have jokes about nurses.

What I think is strange is that she would diss a QVC product (Quacker Factory).

A great example of open mouth put in foot. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Welcome to the boards, Sunny. And remember you have just as much right to voice your opinion here as anybody else.Smile

Sunny maybe I can put this to rest for you. As a gag, years and years ago, it used to be a note that people would tape to others backs with that message. They'd walk up from behind and act like they were sweetly patting someone's back but they were making sure the tape would hold with the sign on it. My friends and I didn't do that, but we'd see others do this as a joke. Everyone would laugh, no offense was ever ment or taken. It was all in fun. I hope this helps, so you don't feel offended.

Wow, you had nice friends. I've been ridiculed for hours or actually kicked (a light one) from that sign. Now it's considered bullying.

Yes, it is odd she would mock QF.

I can understand how someone could be offended. Teachers and substitutes would like to be regarded as the professionals that they are, without ridicule.

Unfortunately, I think sometimes in an effort to fill time and space with their never ending chatter hosts can come out with some inane remarks.

I can understand your feelings and you ARE entitled to them. I would follow the advice given as to where are the best places to express your feelings so that they would actually be heard by her, or the PTB. Can't hurt.

However, and do know that I am NOT a fan of JRT (times a million!), I don't think it was meant to be insulting to anybody - just a cute story in her mind.
