I may be drummed off the Q board after thus - read on.  After a very stressful week last night went to dinner with some girlfriends met up with DH in our local "saloon" afterwards.  Yes it is a saloon we live down road from Tombstone way out west.

Anyway turns out it is kareoke night.  Had my Chardonnay then another one then decided kareoke here I come.  Never ever done this before - got an off key voice - danced sang to "I've got friends in low places" (appropriate eh?) having a taste for it - and the Chardonnay - followed up with selection of Abba then got DH up for duet - left there at midnight still singing!

Walking the dogs this a.m. People I met all calling out - great night, you did good etc. etc.

Ladies be warned see what stress can do to you

When I go for my walks, and a song I like come on I sing and dance. They said my singing is pretty good and so is my dancing. Sometimes when I am in my office(not to loud)  I will start singing with the radio.

That was great!  I also love that your DH got up and joined you for a duet -- fabulous.

@dulwich

Doesn't it feel good to let loose?

Last week Thursday, we had a corporate team building day.  The afternoon was a picnic which featured games, a DJ and Karaoke.  I love to dance.  I listen to music every day and dance around the house.

So..... at work, I am pretty quiet and my co-workers perceive me as very conservative, he he he. I'm almost 54 and am a pale natural redhead, how much rhythm could I possibly have right?

I asked the DJ to play at least once Prince song for me.  Nobody was dancing, they were sitting around and eating.  I had finished snacking when I heard the DJ say, this is a dedication, it's Prince - Sexy Dancer.

I went over to the dance floor and let loose.  Seriously, no alcohol involved - I tend to lose myself in music.  I really don't remember most of it, rofl.

I was on the 'dance floor' for a couple of hours.  More women joined in, there were a variety of hustles performed and I had a blast. One of the guys at work dabbles in photography so I'm featured in the slide show of over 200 photos.

Folks are looking at me differently this week, lol.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

@dulwich  I loved your story!  I used to go to kareoke years ago.......it was very popular here in Ohio.  You had fun and so did everyone else.  Just remember, after all that wine.........the audience probably had more "juice" than you did, so you probably sounded like Madonna to them!

That is a cute story and I am glad you let loose and enjoyed yourself...why not.I once sang in big lots because the song was a favourite and a lady came around the corner and told me that I should never do that.I do have the worst voice in the world but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be heard.

@dulwich  No, I have never -- but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.  I'm hoping your stress is relieved soon.  If not, there's always more Chardonnay and karaoke down the road.  Woman Happy

Hi @dulwich

I love this story!  I can't keep on tune either, I've been told that all my life.

What kind of Welsh women are we?!

I love to sing but it would take more than Chardonnay to get me up for karaoke, but I do love the idea of going to an authentic saloon Woman Very Happy

Well, It's not unusual.....
