My previous neighbor asked me who used to live upstairs in his house and thought it was rather odd that he wanted this information.
Turns out, the lady that died upstairs in his house is still there in spirit. He sees her walking, she moves the blankets, she moves the furniture and occasionally he'll wake up and she's looking over him.
I described what she used to look like (I was a little girl and actually quite afraid of her) and yes, my former neighbor confirmed that's her.
He told me that she isn't bothering anyone so he's not phased with her being there...............to me, that's crazy.

30 years ago we were renting a very old old home. The neighborhood kids named it THE HAUNTED HOUSE. It looked like a haunted house. The only experience I had in it that was scary was one morning I was getting ready for work... it was like November and dark outside still.... and I heard A sound like someone was jiggling the back door knob in the kitchen... it was loud. I could hear the door like someone was pushing and pulling on it. then rattling the door knob like they were trying it out.
. I just freaked out and not like me I called 911 and told them I thought someone was trying to break in... in minutes the police arrived and I told them what I had seen and heard at the back door...
The police did a check of outside of the house.. there were NO FOOT PRINTS AT ALL IN THE NEWLY FALLEN SNOW outside BY THE DOOR AT ALL. They were very nice about it... probably thought I was a nut case
So I guess I had an overly active mind or something... maybe.... but I know what heard and saw. It still stays with me now that FEELING OF FEAR AND BEING SCARED.

My grandfather grew up in a haunted farmhouse. They heard footsteps all the time and they also had a pipe organ which, from what I understand, you have to pump first to make it play so it's not like someone can just run and hit it. That thing used to start playing in the middle of the night.
They also weren't real bothered by the ghosts. He went back as an adult years and years later and found the new owners. They mentioned that the ghosts were still there and didn't bother them either.
It made for great dinner stories for us grandkids. We loved when he talked about it.

I don't believe in ghosts or in stories like that.

@Laura14 I do believe in ghosts too, although my only personal experience with them is when I can't find the scissors or the remote control and find that a ghost has taken them and left them in the bathroom or the refridgerator. ![]()

I don't think it is crazy. Our first home had a guest that was there when we moved in. He was a young man of about 30 years of age with sandy blond hair, very thin and tall. He always was wearing a tan suit.
Only me and my youngest son who was born while we lived there could see him.( I was pregnant when we moved in) He used to helpfully move toys out of the walking path so no one would trip and once he woke me up when my oldest son slipped through the top bunk bed rail and was stuck by his head and was strangling.
I once woke up and found him staring at me beside my bed. That time, He did scare me.
I tried to find out who he was, but no one knew. I had an elderly neighbor who was in her 90's. She was born in the house she lived in. She said no one who fit that description ever lived in the house during her lifetime and she named every family that lived there since her parents bought their home.
We sold our house to a young family with two small boys. Their mother was pregnant with another boy at the time. My youngest son ran into this boy at a party many years later. They had never met before.
When my son discovered that this boy lived at our old address they got to talking about the house. The younger boy told my son about the man who he, but no one else in his family saw. Both boys were happy to know that they wern't crazy.
I don't think it is unusual at all. There are many houses who have spirit guests. As long as they are human spirits and are not evil, it's not all that bad sharing space with them.
I don't think these spirits are haunting. They are just poor souls who do not want to leave what they consider to be a safe place for them. For some reason, they never moved on from the material world.

@2blonde I know what you mean! St. Anthony is a good friend of mine. ![]()
I have had too many personal experiences to not believe although all my encounters have primarily been with my own family members who have passed. Makes me feel good when they visit.
And that doesn't make me crazy. I was that way long before I had my first encounter and frankly, it's their fault. See, they are still making me nuts even after they're dead.

@Laura14 I think it's kind of cool to have contact with them. My mother passed when I was only 20, and she was only 48. I truly would like some visits from her!

@chrystaltree I do not believe in Ghosts either.... but whatever THAT WAS jigging the door knob was very real and unnerving. Somethings situations just defy explanation... I will just leave it at that.
