Re: Has your attitude about shopping changed since 2019?

Not a whole lot,  I actually enjoy grocery shopping and I prefer to pick out my own meat and produce.  For the past couple of years, I have gotten up early (for me) and do my grocery shopping to avoid my contact with people due to COVID.  I wish I had done this pre-COVID as it's a much more pleasant experience.

As for clothes shopping, I much prefer to look, touch and feel articles of clothing and then try them on.  However, my local mall has lost all of it's anchor stores plus a few other clothing stores.  I have a Kohl's close by and that's about it.  The next nearest mall is an hour away.  I went to it early last December and found the selection in my go to stores to be almost non-existant.  Therefore, I've been forced to do a lot more ordering online.  I can do OK with tops but I'm so hard to fit with any kind of pants or jeans that I avoid ordering them and just wear what I have.

Nothing changed for me. I like to go out shopping for just about anything. I haven't  worn a mask since early last year. I don't even carry one with me anymore. And yes I had Covid 3 weeks ago. Nothing but a cold. I like shopping online for the variety especially in clothes and shoes but I want to get my food and eat in restaurants in person.

We go to the grocery store but I get really nervous when it's at a high traffic time.  I rarely go to Warlmart any longer untless it's early in the morning on a weekday and I haven't been to the mall since covid hit.

No, I never stopped going out even during tha worst of the pandemic.
I really don't think much about Covid.

Re: Has your attitude about shopping changed since 2019?

I prefer to shop for my own groceries.  I like to pick out my own stuff, especially meat, fruit and vegetables.  I don't want the last bunch of asparagus that looks like it should be thrown out instead of in a cart.  When meat is on sale, I don't know the largest/most expensive pack.  I've seen the store employees shopping for the on line orders, most appear pretty young and don't know what they're looking for or know how to food shop. I can appreciate the on line grocery shopping, especially for those who can get it delivered at home for whatever reason.  Clothing, I buy mostly for myself on line.  For my daughter, trying on items is just about a must.

Re: Has your attitude about shopping changed since 2019?

We continue to shop at stores, we just go early in day, go with a list, wipe everything down and when cases are up (like now) we put on our mask and get in and out quickly.

My shopping patterns changed more due to retiring and not feeling the need for new clothes. I've also dropped some weight and was hesitant about buying new clothes because I wasn't sure if weight would stay off (it has).

I also spent a lot of last few months training for a marathon and wore a lot of athletic clothing - which worked great because they tend to be close to the body and my smaller size wasn't an issue w/ the fit. I've found it easier to buy knit items on-line, so I don't go to store for those.

I may use the free grocery delivery service this winter if road conditions are sketchy. No one wants me on the roads if there's even a chance of icy. Smiley Happy I'm not a great driver.

I'm upset at the ridiculous prices of essential items. We did not have any of this before 2019. I find myself not wanting to buy anything made in China.

No, my attitude about shopping hasn't changed since I was old enough to drive. The way I shop(B&M/Mail Order/now online) has changed, but my frugal and simple ways has not.

Would say 99% of my shopping is for items that actually do something, or can be physically used in some manner. Things to look at, and they do nothing? Never been my thing.

Hopefully I will never succumb to having someone else shop for me! No one at stores care to look at expiration dates, look of fruit and vegetables. They just grab and go. Yuck. I'm a very particular shopper. I inspect everything that I put in my cart.

Groceries Im with you.. Instacart delivers my groceries and I get only the things I chose for the week's menu and am not tempted to impulse buy...And any store that partners with our main grocery store here in SA, HEB groceries, must meet high standards---the Instacart Shoppers check expiration dates, the produce and meat are the best. I always indicate a 2nd choice if something is out of stock and shoppers also send photos of whats on the shelf---- No gripes here....And I save time too not having to drive to/from the store nor wait in a long lines to check out---the stores have less checkouts for large purchases and also more self check outs these days ....which is frustrating...

Now I still like to shop in-store for home decor in places like Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Kirklands, Tuesday Morning.....I love to browse in these stores!

If I know a clothing brand well and their sizing is consistent then I dont mind shopping for my favorite brands on-line, but I do like to go to Department Stores ---Dillards, Macys, JCP and browse and try on things that way I dont have to worry about returns....

And books stores---- nothing beats browsing at a book store whether its Barnes & Noble or Half Priced Books!
