I only buy stuff if the shipping is free...
‎01-02-2019 07:00 PM
As I recall the S&H was increased right after they had all free shipping in December. So, that had to be about mid-December when they increased the rate. I went back and checked my status with the Q.
Do agree that if they ship 2 or more items in one package, they should not charge the $3.50 for each item. Maybe they should have a bulk rate for packages being sent that way.
I am being very careful when ordering any clothing....being sure of the sizing, because I don't want to have to return anything and pay twice the S&H price.

I know we refer to it as shipping, but we know it’s shipping and handling. We’re not just paying the cost to mail it but we’re also paying the cost to pack it (employees) and the supplies used to pack it. You know if you took it to the post office and mailed it yourself in most cases it would cost more than $3.50, especially if you insure it. I don’t like paying shipping any more than anyone else. I guess we can call it a necessary evil.

$3.50 is still a bargain, imo.

$3.50 for most things is still an amazingly low s&h price, a 50 cent increase is nothing to complain about. QVC doesn't force anyone into shopping with them, it's a choice. We have free will. If you don't like the shipping charges, don't buy anything.

@NEvans2 wrote:I worked in retail my entire life and I can tell you from experience that QVC has inflated shipping rates. Most times shipping is based on weight of package. Every retail store I ever worked at did ship to home or business, so over the course of 42 years I packed a lot of merchandise. We always had to weigh the package and write the weight of the package on the outside of the box. Last night I had three items of clothing in my cart and just could not hit "buy" when I realized I would be paying $10.50 for shipping.
They've been gouging their customers for years and their customers -- us -- have been letting them get away with it. The only way we cn get their attention to our displeasure is to withhold our business and go elsewhere. The only way to get their attention is hit the where it hurts: the bottom line.

@Helpful Hannah....what do you want them to do???? No way would they not charge you for shipping and handling.
No one is forcing you to shop on the Q.....but remember who is making it possible for you to post on here, and then complain. To me, that is not being fair to the Q.....just sayin!

No one's ability to post on these forums is predicated on whether they shop here or not.
I do agree that if you don't care for the experience, don't shop here, but trying to link posting to shopping is simply not an appropriate response.

I wanted to order a white blouse from J. Jill. One white blouse. Shipping is $11.95.
If I go to the store and order that same white blouse - free shipping.

Yes, I have noticed the slight increase. I don't really mind the extra 50 cents so much. But, what I do mind is QVC charging separate fees for items shipped in the SAME package!!! ![]()
