Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

Shipping costs do not just include the "postage" aspect.  There is also the shipping materials.  Also included is the wages, benefits etc for the person who packages the purchase.

@Helpful Hannah....what do you want them to do????  No way would they not charge you for shipping and handling.

No one is forcing you to shop on the Q.....but remember who is making it possible for you to post on here, and then complain.  To me, that is not being fair to the Q.....just sayin!

You're really misguided if you think QVC has a message board out of the goodness of their heart. They have it because it BRINGS IN BUSINESS (altough not in my case). And who says I buy from QVC?

I hadn't noticed, but read about it here.

Remember when shipping used to be $6.95?

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

@Helpful Hannah......NO....I'm not misguided at all.  I will not argue with you, but why are you so upset about this.  No one ever said you shop at QVC.....  I was only pointing out a few things to you.  I have been buying from QVC for many, many years now, and have mostly been very pleased with everything I have purchased.

As one poster stated....remember when S&H was $6.99....  I remember it well.  So, the $3.50 is a drop in the bucket today....compared to that.

And of course, I understand that they hope making these boards available for us to post on does bring in business,  After all, that is what they're in business for.....to make money.

Just want to clarify one thing.....I never said you had to buy from QVC to use their forum to post on.  I was merely trying to make a point.....  Sorry if it offended anyone.

@Ms tyrion2......No one said that.....You misunderstood what I was meaning......  Sorry about that.  Also have noticed that you hardly ever agree with me on anything.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

I often wonder why these forums continue to exist.

They certainly don't seem to bring in business.  In fact, from most of the posts I read, potential customers are repelled from buying.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

@Johnnyeager  Here is what I think, based on my own experience.  Some of the forum participants mention, review, and sometimes link or give the item number on something they have bought here which can lead me to purchase the same from the Q.

Two examples for me are the Lock and Lock cake and pie carriers that someone mentioned here.  I had been surfing the web, including here, and then after someone's reinforcement purchased here in 2018.

Same with a couple of the cookbooks sold on Q that posters recommended which led me to purchase from the Q.

Also, someone will give a "heads up" on upcoming TSV's or items on future shows, like some of the Christmas in July/Christmas  items by Valerie Parr Hill, or Jill's upcoming programs and then I watch and go online or phone in to purchase.

I bought two Vitamix blenders, one for myself, and one as a gift for a family member based on the TV demos by Jan on IK with David, but cemented by comments here on the boards that they were well used, quality, "worth it" purchases--and they were.  Same with Kitchen Aid stand mixers, one for myself, and one as a gift, that I purchased after watching live Q demos and then reinforced by input from the boards and customer reviews.

By the way I trust the input from posters here more than from the posted "starred" customer reviews.

So I believe it does bring in business for QVC and keeps us connected to QVC more than if we just surfed QVC solo, so to speak.

Re: Has anyone else noticed this?

I am of the belief this increase is a marketing ploy.  I predict, in the very near future, the Q will offer free shipping ALWAYS when using their exclusive Q card.  This will be their attempt to gain MANY a new credit card customer - a very lucrative portion of their business.

Competitively, they are trying to emulate Amazon and their Prime membership.  I imagine they will introduce this feature with paying a one time or annual fee, but perhaps not - all depends on the numbers.
