Re: Has Anyone Seen Spring?

[ Edited ]

At  7,000 feet above sea level in Colorado, spring will usually get here after Mother's Day. We don't dare plant anything until at least then, no sooner or frost will kill it.

     Here in the South West, we never had a real Winter!!!  We had one day and a half of light snow and very few days that could be called "cold"!!  We have been very warm all Fall and Winter and this week will be in the high 80's!!  However, we are about to enter our Spring....which means lots of wind and dust!!  Not my favorite time of the year.....

Finally, it’s snowing in the dc area.  I’m thrilled to say, I’m supposed to get 16 inches of snow.  Love it.  Haven’t seen snow all winter.  It’s about time.

@Annabellethecat66

Spring was visiting New Orleans today.  (Temps in the 70s, breezy, and a clear blue sky. Fantastic weather).  We gave her some beignets and cafe au lait and sent her north to give you some relief!

@Luvtuna I got that name from one of my cats I loved so much.  One day some mail came addressed to "Annabellethecat".

My family has always been very catholic.  My brother and sisters went to Catholic school as did my mother and so on.  I was raised by my Dad and I never went to Catholic school.  It's interesting.  Some hated it and some loved it.

My daughter decided to send my youngest grandson to Catholic school this year (kindergarden).  She is always commenting on the difference between Catholic school and public school.

I don't know how reliable her ideas are because her three other children are in advanced gifted schools run by the County.  In other words it's not like they just go to regular public school.

Especially with all of the shootings, etc going on, it's interesting to hear her talk about the differences.  Totally off subject but I'm so guilty of that....I apologize, I guess it's all on my mind.

I'm looking out the window into the woods and the ground is white but the blades of grass are still sticking through...

I always think about the little animals.  It doesn't seem to bother the squirrels.  They're still on my back porch like little vacuum cleaners sucking up all of my bird seed!  Ugh!

My friend gave me a coffee cup that has the cutest squirrel on it that says, "Excuse me!  Your bird feeder is almost out of seed".  Ha!

She has to listen to me complain 24/7 about the squirrels chasing away the birds!

I loved going to Catholic school - only went through eighth grade then to a very good high school.  Back then we had real Nuns - in the 40’s and 50’s.  I also look out my window and see the woods and squirrels.  I feel sorry for the early arrival birds.  Love the sentiment on your mug.
