OhRe: Happy Days!

Thank you. Heat nor humidity will never make a difference in my happiness on Wednesdays. That will only happen if the ice rink is not open. I love my ice skating days.

Since I live in the very North end of town and the ice rink is a 20 mile drive Southeast? I didn't know they had a power outage from a storm. Out North we got just a little rain, any they got lots of rain/wind and lightning.

They decided to keep the rink open even though the ice was pretty compromised(rough with holes and very bumpy). Usually just a few of us skating on Wednesdays when kids are in school.

My female skating friend(who was a figure skating instructor for years) decided it was too risky for her to skate, and left. She is over 75, thus also skates free. She fell a couple weeks ago and is still nursing her injuries, so decided was best for her and I agreed.

Was not what I usually consider a fun skate, and I did fall. Will have a big bone bruise on my left hip in a couple weeks, and it did compromised my healing 4 broken ribs a bit. I did stick it out for the whole 2 hours, just had to skate differently.

Now looking forward to Sunday, the next day the rink has a public skating session. They took Fridays off their August schedule. A bummer for me.

@hckynut, You're welcome. I enjoy reading about your skating adventures. Both of my nephews are "hockey nuts"! Played since they were old enough to walk. One of them is now a writer/publicist for the Blackhawks. He travels with the team & has had the cup at his home!

Thank you! Each day brings many thoughts & experiences to me, mostly good. Yes, life can be tough but I try to stay on the positive side.
