Halloween Decorations - Page 3

I decorate for fall/harvest and as Halloween approaches set a few things out inside and then take them down but leave up the fall decor until I do whatever Christmas decorating I plan to do. I used to enjoy browsing the Vermont Country Store but their prices have really become out of sight. They've always been high but last time I looked I opted not to order anything at all.

Like @Preds and others here... we used to decorate for Halloween when the kids were small. My DD especially went all out. Even hosted her prepared Haunted Barn and corn field maze, here on the property for many years. Kids would come by the car loads out here in the country. Don’t see many trick or treaters any more. The schools and churches have parties, so they wear their costumes to those.

I've already begun to decorate the house and porches for Autumn, though. Will leave those up until after Thanksgiving. 🍁

Yes, I remember how you used to decorate every year for fall, then take them down and get ready for Christmas decorations.

I think of you so often....especially when I turn on my castle lamp. Still enjoy it as much as when I got it. And still get compliments on it.

OMGosh, the Cards got another home run.....by the same player that got it in the 1st inning. Now in the 4th inning. Score is 2 to 1..... GO CARDS.

Will try to get an email off to you tomorrow. Will be changing my sheets (which t akes me forever), so will email you while I'm resting in between the changing.

Have to ask you.....what is a Mallo-Cup? Does it have to do with marshmallows????

@stevieb......yes, they are kind of pricey.....but most of the things I have purchased from them (clothing) were sale items. But have ordered several of their table cloths. I have a 40" round dining table (extends to 80"---has 2 20" leaves)..... It is almost at 40" all the time now. I have ordered 52" square cloths from them, and have been very pleased with them. 52" cloths are so hard to find.

It seems like many folks do fall decorating and then sneak in some Halloween items. That is a good idea.

But really don't think all of their Halloween items are that expensive. Some very cute things....and some very cute candles too.....

I used to decorate a lot for Halloween. We got lots of trick or treaters. Candy is expensive now, and I don't want to upset my dog. I still have those inflatables, that you all love. lol

I use to do the whole Halloween thing but the fun of it was ruined for me when kids started coming by the van load to our neighborhood to Trick or Treat and I could no longer afford nor enjoy it. No "trick or treat" or "thank you" or "kiss my azz" or nothin'! One year we ran out of candy and before DH could run a block away to get more, they kids trashed our decorations!! That was IT!! No more fun!!

You know me... I usually have very limited time to visit here. Especially during the Spring (planting season), Summer (some traveling/entertaining) and Fall (harvest season). You and our other dear ones here are always on my mind, though! As it happens, I had my second foot surgery last week, which is healing up fine. Taking it easy this weekend and will return to work tomorrow.

It's good to see you feeling up to posting as you used to! Been following your progress through your treatments, but have little news to share, that I haven’t already posted to “hello” in AF. Feels silly to dup it! 🙃

Yes, marshmallowy goodness!! I stock up on those and peanut butter cups for hubby at the Cracker Barrel. We both like these faves refrigerated for the 'snap' when you bite into them. VCS probably has them, too, if you want to try one. I love those striped coconut chews ~ hope they still carry those. I'll be checking in there soon. Didn’t get a catalog yet...

Most of my Fall -- er, "Harvest" -- decorations are actually Halloween decorations, so that's what I'm putting out now. They come down the day after Halloween. And up goes the Thanksgiving decor, such as it is.

Keeps our environs interesting, doesn’t it, @ValuSkr? I'm sure your holiday themed decor is lovely! 😊

I do the seasonal decorations and add touches for the various holidays. My biggest things are table centerpieces and place-settings, the fireplace mantels and the porches/entries ~ including wreaths.

I wouldn't display as many figurines and such to be dusted as I used to, but my granddaughter will get into them and sit them around anyway! This may be the year I pass them along to her. She and her mommy can dust them at their house. 😉

I mainly do Fall which I LOVE and started putting out a few things already. I was just at Michaels today and they had alot of really nice Fall decor--everything from artificial Fall mums in pots that were very pretty and lots of signage with cute Fall sayings, pillows, pumpkins and scarecrows. I reallly don't need any more Fall stuff, but couldn't help myself and picked up a few things. I did notice that had ALOT of Halloween decorations. Some of it was very impressive. If you decorate for Halloween, definitely worth checking out Michaels.

Sure, I'll put out Halloween stuff and we'll probably hand out KitKat bars to the trick-or-treaters. My DH suggested Almond Joy so he'd get the leftovers, but I'm not sure kids would like them.
