The news featured a hospital in Tampa that’s near the water for Level 1 trauma patients. They did not evacuate, because the hospital has an Aqua Fence to protect it from surges.
Tampa General. Been there. They are surrounded by water on three sides I believe. The aqua fence worked during Helene-they reportedly took in no water!

God bless and protect all of you living in the path of this absolute monster storm.
My friend of 65 years lives in Gulfport FL and he texted me yesterday that he was being evacuated and would hopefully text me later.
He has no family there and I am worried for him. I'm afraid that all we can do now is pray for God's mercy.

I have family just a bit inland from Tampa and last I heard they have decided to hunker down and stay. I am very worried.
@haddon9 @BalletBabe. My sisters friend, who I've mentioned before as living in Tampa, has decided to stay in her one story house because her relatives, who live in the area, are going to stay. So she may lose her house, her Cadillac Escalade, after losing her husband suddenly in July and the business they operated.
Shed previously said she was evacuating then changed her mind. We were so relieved and are now furious with her, especially since her area was under evacuation orders.
@Kachina624 So sorry to hear that. I am not in a evacuation area. It is getting really windy now and Tornado watches everywhere. I hope she will be ok.

Uncle Milty has taken a serious northern jog. It currently puts Tampa Bay in the running for landfall again. If it jogs nortward again that puts Tampa on the "bad" side of the hurricane. The surge will be horrific.

I put on makeup and did my hair nicer than usual. When I'm found I want to be proud of how I looked 😉😂
I took a nice hot shower. It is getting really bad here also. I could care less if I have make up on.
