Just wondering why HSN allows you to access and purchase all the products on sale for the day through the program guide and QVC doesn't. Sometimes I end up watching an entire show only to find that I wouldn't be interested in anything. With HSN I'll know in a few minutes if I'm interested in anything. Just curious!

@FLGranny    Two separate companies with different policies and procedures.

How would we know?   But they are separate companies.

I agree,  I wish the Q would list what items would be aired in the shows.  It is convenient to be able to see what's being offered ahead of time.   Many times I have purchased before the show airs on HSN and upon airing, the item has sold out.    Even though they are separate companies, it would be good if the parent company would make them run more similar.   JMO, I feel HSN is a better run company.

Mr. Rawlinson has decided to differentiate and make distinct each "Brand", as the QVC and HSN businesses are now called within Qurate.  A Chief Executive has been appointed to oversee each brand separately:

Effective March 2022 per Corporate Press Release

"The new structure is designed to strengthen brand differentiation between QVC and HSN by giving each brand team direct control over its own merchandising, planning and programming, brand marketing, broadcast, and ecommerce organizations.

The structure will establish clearer lines of accountability and accelerate decision making while maintaining the cost efficiencies gained through the prior integration of the businesses."

@LindaSal  I remember years ago when I was into watching the shows, the items would be listed but the problem was if some people weren't interested in those products, they would change the channel.  I was told that was the reason.

I honestly never got into HSN, not sure why. I think I've watched/purchased from Q since inception and another shopping channel just seemed like too much effort checking schedules, shoes, etc.

I do get emails for specials and especially when Trish was a guest, I was right there!

I thought even though they are 2 separate companies they are owned by the same parent company. I thought the main difference that kept them distinct was that they sold  merchandise from totally different vendors but over the last few years the lines are blurred. They both now sell Downey & Burke, Bose, Beekman, etc. oh well! Like I said I was just curious!

I read this and the first thing that came to mind was, why did they try to integrate them in the first place?  They never should have combined some things with ads that had QVC-HSN shown on both networks.  They should have remained separate.

TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods, for example, are owned by the same parent company but you don't see them  merged in any way from the public's point of view.  I'm sure they probably share merchandise somewhere along the way that we never see but they have been, and still are, separate entitites when we shop with them.   Just my opinion.

Good point! You can use your hsn card on qvc and vice versa!
