@rms1954   They do take out the first payment. I thought they didn't until it shipped but I've noticed on items that are pre-sales, placed on flex pay and not shipping for a few months that the first flexpay has already been paid (shows on charge as well).

When I asked CS about it, I was told they have always done this. To be honest, I'd never noticed until I was paying off my flex-pays (I always order on flexpay that way I'm only out a small amount in the event something is wrong and THEN pay it all off once it checks out) and saw a pre-sale for my in-laws had charged though it doesn't ship until mid-December (was purchased in October).

I now expect the charge to show up no matter the status of the order with HSN.

To be honest, most vendors do this in my experience; charge at time of purchase no matter when the item arrives.

It shows pending on your card and then drops off until it is shipped..

I ordered a Philosophy TSV on 11/01/22 and the first flexpay was taken out on 11/01. The products didn't ship till 11/04. They did the same to me.

They did not take advance payment @katwoman219 . Once your order starts processing, your CC is charged. It took a couple of days to prepare it for shipping.

Thanks for the info.  Have a Good Weekend!

Re: HSN Waitlist

[ Edited ]

@elated @Chi-town girl   Hate to tell ya but no, the items charged and were deducted from my account.  Can't speak about QVC but HSN charges that are pending  drop off at midnight as that is when they allocate. This is why you can cancel your orders made from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM at HSN but can't at QVC; they don't process any charges until midnight of the next day.

So, the orders I placed for specific items that are gifts back in October and are shipping next month have ALL charged and removed the money from my bank account as of midnight that night when the order was placed.  Not going to argue about it as bank statements don't lie, lol.

I can't honestly say how HSN works, I have never paid that much attention since almost everything I order from them is shipped within a week or so.

I know from my thousands of purchases on the Q that the item is not charged until shipped.

As for other businesses, every other place I order charges immediately regardless of the shipping date. Zulily is notorious. Be aware, money is taken out of your account instantly, if you use their payment options you very likely will be on your second installment payment without even receiving the item.

I am not really concerned about paying prior to shipping, it's pretty standard. I do appreciate that QVC will wait until the item ships though.

@cjm61   So true about Zulily!! I ordered one item from them and by the time it arrived, my THIRD and last flex pay was due!!! I had been told they take a long time to ship but WOW....didn't expect it to be THAT long, lol!  That was my first and last time ordering from them.

@FiddleDeeDee - wow! I don't question your comment  based on your posting history, I believe you. That's not happened to me.

Are you certain this wasn't just a pre-authorization for the first payment?

Usually that's what it is.
