I had an interesting survey in my email this morning from HSN. I do buy things from HSN, but maybe once or twice a year max. So, I sure didn’t get the survey because I’m an active HSN shopper. They’re probably sending them either to almost everyone, or just to people who don’t shop HSN often.

The survey was asking questions about how you view HSN currently - over-the-air with antenna, online, satellite, cable, or one of the online streaming services. It asked if you were going to cut the cable in the next six months (or maybe it was 12 months) and if so whether you would stop watching HSN altogether or whether you’d just buy online from the website, or watch via streaming services or Roku, Fire stick, Smart TV, etc.

I’m wondering if they’re trying to decide whether to add another HSN channel or, more likely IMO, to stop paying cable and satellite companies and just go over-the-air and via streaming.

I got a survey from HSN earlier this year asking about hosts and shows that I knew the names of.  I do know some of them, but I almost never buy from or watch HSN.  I was surprised I got the survey.

Im wondering if they will ditch them from cable all together and go with live streaming................

It seems like more and more people are cutting ties to cable/satellite.  They're going to lose viewers.  They're going to have to do something...

I think something is up with them. They don't have the Clever Carriage handbag shows  like the did,and Sharif is over at  Evine now.

They were both good sellers.

I haven't seen Diane Gilman on ,in weeks and this is counting down time for Christmas

I don't think they have as much in the clothing line as Q.

They don't have the Jewelry they used to, either

Victoria Weick is at Evine

I didn't know Sharif was going to Evine too.

I saw some of Victoria's shows this weekend.  I always loved her line...

That’s what I am thinking. It costs networks a fortune to pay to be on cable and satellite. Back in the day when I had very basic, no-frills same-as-antenna cable, HSN was still viewable, and I think (don’t remember for sure) QVC was too. Maybe the cable/dish services make them all pay big bucks now for being part of the lineup at all.

I prefer HSN over QVC and they are my preferred  TV shopping site, they have better deals, coupons and flex pays.

I love Huggable Hangers, Perlier, Iman, DG2, Slinky, Marla Wynne, Iris Apfel, Vince Camuto, Korres, Prai, Carol's Daughter, Highgate Manor, Origami, Wolfgang Puck, Ming Tsai, Curtis Stone and on and on

It would seem very odd to me if HSN ends up kind of disappearing from on-air broadcasting, or becomes much less easy to access, in view of Liberty Media’s recent purchase of HSN. Did they buy the entire business just to tank it? I would have thought the purchase was meant to be complemental to QVC, airing things QVC doesn’t offer. But who knows, maybe they did buy it just to destroy the competiton.

I would be surprised if HSN went off cable.  Older people watch TV shopping channels more than anyone, and they are less likely to drop cable IMO.  I think they'd be really hurting themselves if they did that.
