I just had a feeling that one would be coming soon and yes, today it showed up in my e-mail....

I had this ring sitting there just waiting for a coupon and it was $179 and change just a week ago, then I added it to my cart and it's back up to $249, so even with the 20% off and the limit of discount they put on their coupon, it just would of been cheaper to buy it right away and not wait for a coupon....

...and just think we all fall for it thinking that a coupon would help the cost of a product.

Their coupons have too many restrictions.  I think I've only used one once, and that was for sewing supplies.  I was amazed at the great selection of sewing and machine embroidery things they offer.

Most times their coupons have so many restrictions I find I never use them.

I don't think the coupons have that many restrictions.  No more so than many other shopping site coupon restrictions.  Most of the time they cannot be used on the todays special, this day only or clearance items.  And the savings is also generally limited to $100.00.

I got a 20% off coupon mailed to me at the begining of the month and I used it yesterday to buy a Too Faced kit.  I had no problem using it.

I don't think HSN raised prices to offer the coupon since these coupons seem to be going out randomly throughout the month.  They do change their prices up and down on a regular basis.  They offer show only specials or will lower prices if a specific line is being featured throughout the day, etc.

I've always been able to use them, no restrictions. But I only buy beauty stuff and huggable hangers so maybe that is why?

From reading the HSN boards, customers are upset  with coupons for these main reasons:

1. Can't use coupon on clearance item so you really get a good deal

2. 20% off has a savings limit like $25 or $50.  Can't buy a high ticket item and ACTUALLY save 20%.

3. Coupon is only good for "select" customers and they weren't selected.

One of the HSN board members gathered up all the complaints and suggestions, and sent them to the HSN Marketing team.  Marketing actually read them and responded saying they found this information very valuable and will be making changes to their coupon program.

Re: HSN 20% Coupon

I believe those emailed coupons are non transferable. I get them about once a month - today I bought a BOGO of Prai neck/decolette  cream- with free shipping. The coupon can be used on sale items (just not clearance) - this was a geat deal !!

QVC  never has coupons- I appreciate hsn has them!  The maximum savings on percent off coupons is usually around $25, I keep that dollar amount in mind when purchasing.  It's all good!!!

I was almost out of Korres Guava body wash, so my coupon came just in time. Woo Hoo.

I don't always use them, in fact I probably let more of them go than I use, but I did use this one. It pays to check the 'before and after' prices because all the home shopping outfits (and retail in general) just LOVE those pricing games. The fact is that even with coupons, better prices than are typically available on home shopping entities are almost always an option elsewhere.

So far, nothing has changed.  It probably won't until they get their financials in order @vickie25.
