Saw the first part of the lunar eclipse this past Sunday night while near the Pocono mountains in northeast PA.
While there was a thin cloud cover floating past the moon at times, you could still see its extreme brightness. When the earth's shadow began to enter from the left, the moon's face became pinkish or rosy.
Never finished watching the eclipse: too tired and sleepy.
Wonder if the Pope could see it from his plane. Here, I noticed several small planes aiming for the moon's environment.

It happened. Also, the 28th passed and no Apocalypse. Back to the old grind.

In Northern Illinois, the sky cleared just in time to see the eclipse. My husband watched it at various times, too, and took photos. I was more fascinated with the moon the night before. It had a colorful ring around it. Here's one of the photos I took on the 26th.

Very revealing!!!
Actually it was clear and bright. Also had a full, bright moon last night.

It was ok.

It was an incredible show here in southern New England! Lucky for us, the sky was crystal clear. The moon only took on the "blood" color once it was fully eclipsed. We thought to ourselves how this wouldn't happen again until 2033... and how old we'd be (yikes!)... and it made the moment really special. It was a reminder to enjoy the now!!
Not the sharpest shot, but you get the idea...
