New Masterpiece Theatre Series

Is anyone tuning in?  I think it's called "Indian Summers" or something like that.  Starts tonight.

Re: New Masterpiece Theatre Series

I'd made myself a reminder to record it. I'm going to give it a try.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: New Masterpiece Theatre Series

Thanks!  I just bought the series on DVD.  It will be released here Oct 15.  For some odd reason I have trouble with some of the masterpiece selections.  The audio is bad.  Especially shows like Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries, New Tricks, Downton and Call the Midwife. It is worse when I dvr the show.   I have to crank the audio as far as it will go, and it is barely audible.  This is the only channel I have trouble with when I record.  Anyone experience the same thing.  I record shows everyday and they are fine,  It is onlycertain British shows on PBS

Shoekitty -- Can you use the close caption feature when you record a show?

@tansy

I haven't tried that. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem.  So strange.

______

I have the same problem.  It seems to be the British shows on PBS.  I turn the sound up as far as it will go.

Re: New Masterpiece Theatre Series

I notice it on *most* British shows, whether they are on PBS or BBCA or even theatrical films. I don't think it's the fault of the station broadcasting.

It could be a conversion issue from PAL to NTSC and/or the film/sound equipment they use. Whatever it is, it's long past time for the British production crews to be aware and compensate.

So far it reminds me of "Downton Abbey" set in India.
