Yes...i agree......but i think MaryBeth would hold the record....she would have TWO warehouses in the backyard!! ha

It used to be when I heard the hosts say "I have...." I wanted to start of list of what I saw her wearing and keep track for a month to see how many different things she wore. Then I got smart and realized I'd never know unless I watched QVC over and over to catch them all. Just not doing that, but I'd still not know what else she had and wore in her life.

I have to believe that Carolyn Gracie holds the record. More power to them.

There was a picture of a host's garage ( supposedly) that showed boxes, and boxes of QVC stuff. Many hosts donate unneeded stuff.
This came to mind as well.
Someone should check the thrift stores around West Chester, PA

Long time ago I heard a host say that they could not buy because the customer came first and they were not allowed to make any purchase while the product was active on air. Not sure if this was true but times change and it could be true. NO way to know.
No doubt they are given samples, products, whatever to try and use. That makes sense if they are to KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT what they are selling.
And it is a ploy in many cases. IT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME SO YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE IT. AND I AM YOUR FRIEND SO TRUST ME. It is testimonial that is supposed to make us think we really really really need this item.
See why I rarely watch QVC live! LOL

I do believe that no host with a conscience would lie about product ownership. For example, frome what I've observed of her, I would believe Mary Beth would not say she had something, if she didn't.
Idealistic? Not really, when I've seen scrupulous sales and business people up close and personal. My Dad was a realtor, and was known for being a terrific salesman, but he would rather have cut his wrists than tell a lie, or misrepresent anything in business. Thank goodness, among the frauds, there will always be people of integrity...

If I remember correctly, in Kathy Levine's first book, she mentioned that the hosts received a today special value - every day.
Now that would be a nice perk!
