Re: HORRIBLE Customer Service

QVC Customer Service ALL year long are perfect.

And in the month of December they have a major difficult job.

All I can say this is almost over.... and they can relax a little.

All the UPS guys signed a Holiday card and gave it to me!   Now that was nice of them.   They are sweet working over time to bring our packages to us.

There was a article published years ago about the shipping process.  It mentioned both QVC and HSN, and I'm sure it is standard for most on-line retailers.

The individual items aren't sent from the warehouse to a UPS hub or post office.  The labels are printed and affixed to the packages, when the label is printed that is the start of the shipping process.

There are tractor trailers at the warehouse, with different trailers designated for the different hubs depending on where the packages will be delivered.  The now labelled package moves to the trailer and now waits for enough shipments to that specified hub to fill that trailer and once it is full it's then hooked up to a semi and off it goes to it's first stop.  Once it's on the trailer, it is out of QVCs hands.  When the hubs, both USPS and UPS are inundated with packages, I can tell you from first hand experience that they aren't always on the ball as far as scanning for tracking purposes.

Edited to add - you keep saying you got your hopes up because the label printed on the 22nd.  Even if it immediately shipped to the hub, you wouldn't have gotten it by Christmas as UPS ground is three business days and Christmas day is a holiday.

Re: HORRIBLE Customer Service

Not getting what you want is not the same as receiving horrible customer service.

Perhaps, just perhaps, if I had been a customer service rep receiving your call at this, the most hectic time of year, only to hear unrealistic demands, insults and called a robot multiple times, I would have hung up on you as well.

Next time you want a gift there in time, order it in time and allow for it to be delivered.  Do not make assumptions and then get upset because your assumptions and unrealistic expectations are not met.

Re: HORRIBLE Customer Service

Every year I hear stories like this on this forum and from friends who have ordered on-line.  Last night several of my female friends had dinner at a French Bistro to celebrate the holidays.  Three of them were worrying about getting items that they ordered on-line for Christmas.  I just smile and say nothing but I would not order anything on-line after the first week in December if I wanted to be sure I had by Christmas no matter what the guarantees are.

The latest I ordered anything online from anywhere that was to be a gift was over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. I received everything, no issues. And this year I did ALL my Xmas shopping online. I bought zero in a brick & mortar store this time. So easy, no stress!

Me, too!

I got every present online, and there were a lot of them, from books to clothes.  Big discounts were available BEFORE Thanksgiving, so not only did I do all shopping online, as a result I also got all wrapping done early.

The very last thing I bought was the set of drop-it-in-and-set-to-go Christmas bags from QVC. I thought maybe those wouldn't make it, but they did, within about 7-8 days.

Re: HORRIBLE Customer Service

I'm upset because mine WAS promised before christmas!  The big huge headline "buy this and get it by 12/24/15"

Like the OP, part of mine sat for 3 days before shipping.  3 DAYS!  There is zero reason for QVC to sit on an order.  None.

I have 2 kids that will not get their major gifts due to a PROMISE to get it here and it not shipping!

First and Last time!  Lost my business forever, and I can assure QVC... I will blast the heck out of my email list warning people next year.... and it's a huge list and a huge website with massive traffic.
