I think it is because some people feel she is out of touch with "regular" people.

I don't care for her one way or another, but I am a bit shocked at the vitriol leveraged at her - over her marriage, her choice of words, her cookbook, her lifestyle, even her children's names.

I guess she isn't allowed to have opinions, likes and dislikes without a feeding frenzy. I haven't really read anything that was so offensive by her - perhaps tone deaf - that warrants the blowback she gets.

I read an interesting article about this.

The internet is like a pack of wolves. For little reason, they focus their sights on one person & just...won't...let...go. The becomes internet fodder & eventually internet legend with these rumors/reputations. Yes, she might have said some things, but many other celebrities have said much, much worse & have acted much more pompous. Pretty soon, it's blown waay out of control.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Rod Stewart, Richard Gere....they are all part of this internet 'negative' legend where people just...won't...let...go. I don't get it.

When Gwyneth was put on the cover of People Magazine's most beautiful, the hateful comments were just terrible. That must have been very hurtful for her and her family. I always thought she was lovely and an excellent actress.

He is so talented, I love GLEE, & she obviously met him doing the show - her episodes were fabulous! I have always liked her & also do not understand why she is hated by so many (most who have not met her). I can't recall any negative comments from people that actually know her, so I choose to go by that perception@
