Woke up to the news about Tropical Storm Sally--projected to become a CAT 2 hurricane before landfall somewhere in the Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama area (though Florida will feel impacts).
This seems so surreal----people are still recovering from Laura.
My heart goes out to all of these residents. So sorry you are having to go through this again.

The "tail end" is passing us now, giving us more rain. Too bad for the peope up to the north of the Gulf.

Wish this rain could go help out on the West Coast!
Feel so bad for the people and animals. 😔

All we're getting is clouds and off and on rain. Looks like LA will get it hit again. ![]()

NOLA area here. We were awakened at 3:30 am by the phones screeching the emergency warning siren. This was because the path and speed had shifted some, putting us right in the middle of the cone.
Of course, we went through this just a short time ago and were spared any impact as SW Louisiana was devastated instead. You have to do all of the prep without knowing exactly where the hurricane will go. So we're battening down the hatches again.
Please say a prayer for us that it is only a CAT 1, could be a 2 or higher depending how long it stays over water.

May God watch over everyone in the path of the hurricane 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The Gulf Coast is going to get hit hard, especially around Mobile and the Panhandle of FL! We live in Central AL and it is suppose to hit us with around 8" of rain on Thurs., with flooding, praying it will lose some of its strength by then!

@HootyYou will be in my prayers. I was just "un-doing" some of my hurricane prep since NOLA is now out of the cone. But here on the coast we are always aware that our good fortune with any storm comes at our neighbors' expense. So while we heave a sigh of relief, we worry about all of you who are now in the path. Stay safe!

Hubby didin't listen to me and go down and prep his boat since it looked like it was heading west, but now looks like it's hitting head-on. Not really sure what else he could've done since his prep for the last hurricane though. He just told me to expect him to go this weekend to see what if anything is left. I think the surge and flooding will be the biggest problem. If the lines are too loose, the wind can blow it around and hit things; if they're too tight, it can't rise with the flooding and will then sink. He actually moved it to a spot inland for Katrina, and even though it was in the middle of a swamp, someone broke into it and stole the electronics.

Welcome to the new normal. This is our weather now. Decisions have consequences. Buckle up everyone. We've got fire season, hurricane season, and disease season, all here to stay. ![]()
