They are still cheaper than what I paid in London.

Trader Joes prices were up a few cents here, a quarter there. They are still less than regular markets. Costco is definitely up. I go there 2x a month on average usually buy the same things, and it is up. Especially deli, ...cheese, etc., ready made food. Dishwasher soap up over a dollar. Batteries up. Produce at Costco was a little limited.
i noticed the price increase at Petco, and my regular super market Nob Hill/ Raleys

@In-x-s I purchased those Durkee FF onions today as well! The funny thing is mine were $1.89.
Eggs at my store are .45 cents. 15 minutes away at another Aldi's, they are $1.89. I have NO IDEA how Aldi does its pricing but obviously it's not a set price; not even at stores just a few miles away from each other. Knowing this, the only way (IMO) you can keep track of whether costs or rising or not is by keeping tabs on store you always frequent.
My thoughts on Aldi increasing prices is this: if Aldi's is this expensive (on whatever you're purchasing), then how much is the big name store charging for the same thing? ANd how are people affording it?
Another example: I purchase the Aldi's brand of Jalapeno potatoe chips for school lunches. One bag is $1.29. This is an exact copy (down to the graphics) of Lay's Jalapeno potato chips which cost $3.99 at Walmart and is $4.29 at my local Giant for the same weight. Big price difference and why I now shop at Aldi's; I have many mouths to feed and my dollar goes farther but...for how long. That case of soda may only be pennies for a can but for those who buy this as a treat and can't afford the gas station or Starbucks (what a joke), that increase means that one treat is now gone as well.
I budget down to the penny. I was taught to make my money work for me as hard as I work for it. But in the end, you only have so much in the bucket that you can spend. As the cost of food rises (and it is) the choices become more and more difficult regarding what you're going to be able to purchase. For many, that's no big deal. For far more, it is a big deal.

@GSPgirl Those prices are going to go way up after 10/31.

I, too am an Aldi shopper, I had noticed the prices going up & up. I blamed it partly on the fact that they recently tore down our old Aldi building & put a new one up in it's place. I thought maybe the increases were just a local thing. guess not.

I havent shopped Walmart in 25 years. But I do know they sell many items at cost to get customers in. What I am curious about. You said you pay .45 cents for eggs? Is that a misprint? We pay 3.79 at least. Nothing in any of our grocery stores in California costs .49 cents, lol. Not even a stick of gum. Lol

@shoekitty Nope, not a misprint. Currently they are .45 cents a carton; limit 3 per customer. Milk is $2.30 a gallon; also limit 3 per customer. I remember watching a YouTuber who shops at only Aldi's, Trader Joes and TJMaxx for food. Last year she was paying .48 cents for eggs at Aldi's and I was paying almost 4 bucks for them at Giant. I told my husband we NEED an Aldi's where we live. Few months later it opened, lol.
I have NO IDEA how they price their items. My cost for eggs can vary wildly from week to week. Yes, they are cheap now but, as per my spreadsheet. I've paid anywhere from this low to $1.99 a carton with an average price of $1.03 per carton. Still, that' is MUCH CHEAPER than any grocery store within 3 counties. This is what brought me to Aldi's in the first place: the much better prices.

I am in Northern California, I havent seen an Aldis

I'm just east of Philly, about 20 miles & I've noticed the jump in groceries & I do a lot of shopping at Costco. Have bought the 4/pack of OJ for $10.99 for years & its now at $11.99. Double pack of English muffins is on sale for more than I paid in the last few months. Kirkland skim milk is more than a gal of regular gas at $2.61! Gas is now $2.31! Something is out of whack!!

The pet food manufacturers really gouge the people who own dogs who are on a very restricted diet. My dog has had pancreatitis 4 times and put in the hospital on IV's each time. Each time she had an episode it ran us close to $1,000 for vet care. She is now on a very low fat diet with only Royal Canin low fat canned food at $3.00 a can and she eats 2 cans a day not counting the dry good at $79 a bag, The treats are $9.00 a bag for 17 ounces. So it runs me around $225 for just her pet food and treats. But I have to do it as I want to keep her as healthy as possible as she is like a child to us. Just hubs, me and her; all the family I now have.
It is sad they take advantage of special needs dogs with the high prices; just like some drugs that people need to take are enormous.
