We got you beat, unfortunately California's gas tax .90 cents and it's going up in July again another .76 cents thanks to our Governor

Re: Got gas(oline)?

[ Edited ]

I got gas about two weeks ago and paid $2.49 per gallon. It is actually $2.69 but with my points earned I got .20 cents off each gallon.  NE Texas

I think California has additional local taxes placed on gas.  I feel bad for you.  The state is so expensive.

Here is the chart listing the gas taxes by state for state and federal taxes.

@Carmie that's not every state listed there.  NJ isn't there and our state gas tax is 44.9¢.  Pretty high not to be listed.

@CelticCrafter   Sorry, I didn't even notice.  I wonder why it wasn't listed.

NJ has some really high taxes.  We (as in my parents) owned a house there, but sold it because the taxes were out of sight.  They felt it wasn't worth it because we only used it as a vacation home and didn't want to rent it out.

We go to NJ for vacation every year.  Gas is less expensive there than it is in PA and somone has to pay the attentents who pump the gas.  Almost all gas is self serve in PA.
