Re: Giving it another try today

Living in MIchigan my entire life I know well the joys of ice skating. My parents used to freeze our backyard and my brothers and their friends would play hockey all the time. The few times their goalie couldn't play I'd be dragged into replace him. I skated all throughout my teen and young adult years. Woman Happy

Re: Giving it another try today

I just saw a wonderful little piece on TV news last night abought a small study that has revealed that DANCING has been shown to have an encouraging impact on geriatric memory.

I LOVE dancing but thanks to my old, dumpy appearance I rarely try. Ageism is an ongoing danger to all of us. We all must do all that we need to keep ourselves safe from any potential damages, then renew the passion for what we love to do.

Modify, fortify, BUT DO IT, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS THAT YOU LOVE!

Dance is great for your body and your brain!  The physical benefits should be obvious but what many people don't think about is how you have to recall sometimes complex choreography and then coordinate that with your body movement.  Contiually changing it up keeps your body and brain sharp.

I love dance Cat Happy
