@millieshops  I have been indulging my sweet tooth a lot in the last few months.

I always bought them from my granddaughter.  She is a freshman in college and not a Scout for the first time in many, many years.

I haven't seen any scouts selling them yet.  I still have some in my freezer from last year.  If I am asked to buy, I'll probably just make a donation and let the girls eat the cookies.

I have done that a few times when I saw the girls outside at Sam's Club in past years.  I never say no.  My family has always been big in the Girl Scout programs.

I'm so glad you brought this up; I've been meaning to buy a few boxes and on line is so convenient. I'd like to donate them to our troops.

We bought two boxes this week at Top Cuts.  Haven't seen them anywhere else.

I got the Thin Mints and DH got the Do-si-dos.

Re: Girl Scout Cookies

[ Edited ]

They mostly sell them outside of Walmart and the big grocery stores near me.  I haven't been out shopping in the last couple of weeks so I don't know if they are there.  I won't be buying any anyway.  There's no one here to eat them and I don't have a job to take them to.  I do have fond memories of Thin Mints.

I was the Cookie Mom one year. Pallets of cookies in my garage. The aroma of cookies everywhere. Handling the orders and all the money was overwhelming. The troop was large, about twenty girls. I was working with four small children so it was a lot to handle. Such a relief when the season ended.

I applaud Troop 6000 for this act of kindness.  To allow these young girls to participate in scouting gives them something uplifting and positive while at the shelter.  I hope the troop does very well and  helps the girls to have a  hope for a better life.  Thanks for sharing this story.

The money may go to worthy causes but they are just too expensive for a dozen mass produced cookies.
