I haven't had Girl Scout cookies for years. No one comes door to door here with them. My husband had a guy working with him whose daughter sold them at one time but that guy since left his job. My daughter says they have stands set up at some stores but I never see them. Then again I don't go out shopping all over too much. I always liked the peanut butter kind. But eh do I need to look for them? Not really, because I don't need the calories..lol.

That's funny !!!

When I was a leader I was shocked at how much the council got and how little the troop got. Of course it supports things like campgrounds and such, but it did seem high.

I just give them five or 10 bucks, because I know the money goes to them. Plus they are too precious. AND, I thank all the dear people who supported my granddaughters cookie sales all those years ago!
The cookies are terrible IMO, I never did like them. They are fattening. The worst part is, as much as I do not like them, I would eat them all if I bought them. I am pitiful! I give them money for their troop to stave off a pound or two. It is a win win situation.

There was this darling 7 or 8 year old girl standing with her mom on a corner in our small town. She was dancing up a storm! She was just so cute, and full of energy and enthusiasm, you just want to keep them inspired!

Donating is better! And it makes me nervous seeing very nice, very young girls out there unsupervised, in front of supermarkets, selling cookies. Better for them if we directly donate to GS. Hopefully their parents are keeping an eye out while driving, making sure nobody is following them home.
