Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time, and a question to go with it.

I've never had a personal connection to Girl Scouts, but have bought the cookies when I saw them being sold outside the supermarkets. I like them, don't care that they're overpriced (I see it as a donation), and as with all items that non profit groups sell...I know they don't receive a majority of the profits, but they still raise money. If they stood in front of a supermarket and asked for outright donations...that wouldn't go over so well.

I buy them so that the little girls will get the sale, but I don't like them. Last year I threw out six unopened boxes. I figured someone would eventually eat them, but they got tucked away and nobody ever did.

Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time, and a question to go with it.

I saw three little girls with their father last year standing outside Walmart selling them in the freezing weather. That alone will get me to buy some plus I sold them as a kid.

That's nice of you September. Even though my daughter doesn't do it anymore, I agree with your spirit and would do the same.

One of my first jobs was working at the Girl Scout Council. The money that doesn't go to the troop goes to their local Girl Scout Council. Without the council there would be no troops.

I'm not buying any cookies and I'm not donating money either.

I like the Thin Mints and freeze a few boxes.

They taste great in the summer, right out of the freezer!

We do this too. They are like a nice cold treat on a hot day!

Gosh I buy the cookies and I actually love the thin mints. I was a scout for years and remember going door to door. I will always support young people in constuctive activities.

I was a girl scout in grade school and enjoyed every minute of it.
