I agree. PT aren't your housekeeper or hair salon.

No I would not give a gift to a medical professional.

@bonappetit......no, they're not......but they are much more, and what would we do without them.  I was in rehab after a fall and being taken care of first in the hospital, then to rehab for about 10 days.  Boy, they put you through the mill there....but they do it with love for you....even though it hurts a great amount of the time.  They did come to my home after I got released, and also got them for an extended amount of time after that.  They were a blessing.

And if I were getting any kind of therapy today, you better believe I would be giving them something to show my appreciation.

Re: Gift for Physical Therapist

I don't know why this has to become such a problem.  If people think the therapist shouldn't get anything, fine.  Those who do think so, fine.

I mentioned giving a thank you card, not a holiday card.  If OP wants to include a small gift card in it that's ok.

Not sure why that would "cheapen" the profession.

I don't know when it became wrong to give a simple "thank you".

Re: Gift for Physical Therapist

A fabulous beautiful seasonal card and your personal expression of how much the physical therapist meant in your life.

Thissort of “Thank You” always meant the most to me.
