I live in the vicinity of the Macy's fireworks display tonight. They've already started closing the streets and access to our apt complex.
I had to go out to do a few errands (urgent need of an avocado and some fruit) - there are NYPD on every corner. No pedestrians (other than residents or visitors who are checked in) and no vehicular traffic.
My apartment faces west so I can't see the fireworks from my living room - but I have a great view of them reflected in the windows of the builddings on the other side of the park!

Oh that sounds like a great view! And how nice to view them from the safety and privacy of your own home.
Enjoy!!!

@ALRATIBA How great to be so close and without the crowds. Enjoy

Oh my gosh, they started here last night. Some of the loud booms sound like cannons. My little dog was shaking horribly all night long...and that was only July 3rd. Not excited to see what is in store for him tonight. Bless his sweet little heart. I feel so horrible for him.

Macys spends a ton of money on those fireworks. They are beautiful. Chicago will have fireworks over the Lake Michigan. Fireworks have been going off since Friday night by me. tonight will be quite active.

In our mountain resort town ( where national forest is closed) they cancelled our fireworks for the 4th. Imagine our surprise when, after a day of rain on the 3rd, the city did their fireworks with no warning. What a lovely surprise!

Usually we have plenty of fireworks happening, but since we've had such a long drought, everyone is afraid that even one teeny spark could start a horrific fire .... maybe they'll have something out over the water.

It will be interesting to see what happens tonight in my neighborhood. Many of my neighbors have been economically affected by the shutdown of the pandemic and they don't have kids so won't be getting more stimulus July 15 thru the rest of the year. Businesses are still limping along. In my opinion, now is not the time to spend money on fireworks. The WHO is contradicting the CDC and causing confusion about mask wearing among the vaccinated. Though fireworks displays are outdoors there are congregations of many 1000's of people.

Oh boy.....I totally agree. People set off fireworks long into the night. They don't take into consideration animals, and people who are sensitive to noise. My Collie was ultra-sensitive to fireworks. I feel bad for your pup. Hoping they're quiet.
