Send it back. For the effort of trying to get rid of the odor, you waste a lot of time. 

 

Get your money back. Tell C/S of the problem & insist it be returned without you paying the return fee.

I spritz mine with vinegar, pure vinegar and hang outside.  No odor next day.  Just make sure it is not where the birds will eliminate on it.

I bought a Susan Graver TSV earlier in the year and wore it on Christmas Eve. It clearly was not a returned item, yet there was an unpleasant smell in the duster part of the two-piece set.
